Overview

The Democracy badge helps Explorers understand how decisions are made and how they can have a voice in shaping their communities. It focuses on participation, representation and active citizenship. Explorers will explore the history of democracy and how it works, including people’s rights and how individuals can influence decisions. They’ll experience democracy in action by engaging with youth forums or decision-makers. Explorers will also gather views from others, share their findings and develop ways to improve how young people’s voices are heard. They may also create resources to help others understand democracy and how to get involved.
