This History Comes Alive Blanket Badge has been produced from the winning artwork of the Scouts design a badge competition!
Scout, Baker McCulloch from S. Lanarkshire produced this great design when he was still in Cubs, and it was chosen from 233 entries. The top 4 entries were posted on social media where the membership then voted for their favourite. Baker received 49% of the votes. Well done Baker!
Baker is currently in the 6th Lanarkshire 1st Carluke (St John’s) Scout Group, a big 'Hello' to you all from us at Scouts!
This blanket badge is available for everyone to buy and is not an activity badge, but we think it would be great to do some fun activities around it too. Great for Parents and Scouts Leaders / Volunteers.
Some fun activities could include fact finding, model making, re-enactment, costumes and pictures. Maybe even look at the history of Scouts and the first Scout Camp at Brownsea Island in 1907! Brownsea Island itself is steeped in history and intrigue. It is also a natural habitat for red squirrels and a variety of birds. You could re-enact some Scouts activities from that time period.
The superb badge would also make a great addition to Scouts' badge collections, or camp blankets or poncho's!
